Nandan's Birthday!!!!
We celebrated Nandans birthday on the day of HIS birthday ....finally!!!!!We decided to meet up at golconda near marathahalli at 7 :15 ....but then when have we ever synced time with time....so by the time everyone came it was already 8:30....and btw innovative multiplex to corner house is no mean walk!!!
While Nithin Preetha Prabhakar and myself were waiting for the rest of the gang to come we deiced to chk out another restaurant near Corner House called Spice garden....but then as we got closer..we realised it might not a good proposition to go to into the hotel...as we were not sure at that time who was paying the bill and also(as) the place had a pool :)We suggested Preetha to go and check out the rates (i know this is cheap..but still...) and come..but she refused..wonder why....she is experienced in all this...beats me???...
Then the rest arrived...After the customatory happy birthdays and the 'HIs' we finally went to Golconda for it was more reliable and we knew the place(read rate!!!)....After occupying the center-most table and making a lot of commotion we made Nandan blow the candle and cut the cake....Then Prabhakar with his usual slip of the slunge...made one of the most glorious if not the graetest slips of all time....hahaha...
We ordered the food....it was bloody spicy ...most of the stuff...from the Zabardast Chicken to the Chimney Chicken..everthying was really really hot...and one tip pls dont have orange juice from this place....it sucks!!!!Then Nandan paid the bill (damn!!! we should have gone to Spicy Garden!!)...then it got late...already 10:30 ...so we i.e Preetha ,Vodko and Myself left in an Auto....and my god...it was the most exciting auto trip ever....it had a blue light inside ...giving it an eerie feel...and that dude who drove the auto was some Auto racing freak....after Preetha got down...he drove like crazy and i thanked my lucky stars once i reached home.....TATA!!!!

Nandi Hills Kolar and Garuda Mall!!!!
Today was no different ...it all started as a trip to Nandi Hills ...even though it is a cliched destination for bangloreans.....its been a while since i was there(i cant recall when i went there)....then the trip plans metamorphosed to Kolar - Kotilingeshwara with just me and Nandan ready to go there (we always are ready !!!!)..... then the plans was interspersed with some suggestions to go for the movies ..again with the votes divided on Mozhi or Mungaaru Male screwed that up!!!! then finally we cohesively(phew!!!) decided upon Garuda Mall....
We reached there no idea what time!!!! Then went to the Scary House ...its gotta be the biggest joke in the mall....its not even a wee bit scary...the only time i felt apprehensive was when i was stuck between the door and 3 devils (expecting brickbats here!!!!)....
Amoeba was our next pitstop.....i always loooovvvvv places where i can rekindle my childhood........jacked Sam in Air-Hockey.....i had a blast there....
How can one live without food....so thats where we went after that....was totally confused to eat...so took the easy way out and had a bit of everythin from everyone (thanks guys!!!)....
We kinda got bored after that ...so back to my House!!!!!
Suddenly out of the blue somebody(think su!!!) came with this plan to celebrate Aj's birthday ...I love Sweet chariot cakes....so went there and bought a cake for him...anyway all this being obscure to the Birthday Boy....and then came back home....and cut the cake in my house with my parents....with the usual 'Happy Birthday to You' song....(this i think is again a instance of childhood rekindlement..) and then we took him to the terrace to flex our calf muscles against his butt...we were modest!!!!
Then again as usual..we started talking about College days(we always do this ..the same topics ..the same jokes..we dont ever get bored...atleast me!!!)....and then we end up getting nostalgic and start planning our next trip...
Was quite a Sunday!!!!

Water reVu !!!
Well...posting a review of Water ..this review was done by one of my friend called AJ (no..not the Backstreet Boys Guy!!!...but close!!!)...its a really neat review ...here goes...
Water- a review:
Water, the third part of Deepa Mehta’s elements series and Canada’s foreign film entry to the Oscars, is a story set amidst the widows of Benares. The film, which was supposed to be shot in Benares itself about seven years ago faced much criticism, and the sets destroyed by Hindu extremists was later shot in picturesque Sri Lanka with a different set of actors.
The film is set in the 1930s colonial India, amidst the rising power and popularity of Gandhi and opens with the young Chuiya being widowed after her much older husband dies, a husband she does not recognize or a marriage she does not recall. She is, almost immediately, sent to a widows’ home by her parents, an act which makes your heart go out to the young Chuiya. The widows’ home almost immediately, changes after her arrival in a way which makes the widows question their faith and their way of life. The Sri Lankan girl Sarala, in the role of young Chuiya is adorable and she breathes life into her character. The film also captures the lives of other widows namely Lisa Ray as Kalyani and Seema Biswas as Shakuntala. The Lisa Ray track is your quintessential love story, wherein the rebellious widow finds solace in her love interest, played by John Abraham. I think, this track has helped portray to the foreign audiences the much romanticized image of India. John Abraham has done justice to his Gandhian character, Narayan and Lisa Ray is promising. Seema Biswas is in her usual best, and she plays her middle-aged widow role with ease. All credit to Deepa Mehta, with her amazing ability to make even the smallest characters stand out. For example, the character of the ladoo loving Bua, is beautiful and makes you laugh and cry at the same time. The downside is that the movie is a little sluggish in certain places and the scenes play out slowly which makes you lose interest. But this shouldn’t hold people back from watching this wonderful film. Personally, I thought 1947-Earth was a better film. Screenplay and Cinematography are excellent and the editing is crisp. All in all, this is the story of a group of strong willed women, essentially like the Indian woman and this is where the film scores on originality.
I don’t know why I am making this point so late in the review but here goes… The background score and songs composed by maestro A R Rahman are speechless haunting. Lyrics by Sukhwinder Singh are ideal and he should write for more films.
All said and done, this film is a huge loss for India and the Hindu extremists made a huge mistake by hampering the shoot. So, it eight out of ten for Deepa Mehta’s Water and two thumbs up for her courage to tell the story of the plight of widows. Lastly, hats off to the little girl Sarala for being this little powerhouse of talent playing a role which is truly difficult to play.

An average weekend with an even average dosage of fun would give me Monday morning blues which would make me even want to quit office sometimes...
so what happens when you go to a trip to Coorg in the weekend with your friends for 3 days....it shifts the blues by one day and an heart wrenching pain of missing your friends...i really really don't want to go to office today but constraints make me do otherwise.....i really don't want to go for trips esp small ones for this reason...its too damn depressing.....i either miss my family or i miss my friends....my life's a mess!!!!!

Wipro Sparks...
Hi...
had gone to the Wipro Sparks last Saturday with some of my friends and i should say it was one of the most boring affairs i had gone through.....they played a dumb cricket match....and even dumber football match which was decided by a toss(A FINAL?????).....i think naming the event Spark was a big misnomer...was at least hoping that the Quiz finale would be entertaining(Harsha Bhogle was the quiz master)...well thanks to great acoustics and broadcasting equipment.....they made sure my hopes went down the drain....
the food stalls were beautifully organized that i could analogize (m not sure if this word exists!!!!) it to a fiasco....for a crowd of 20000+ they had one(yeah 1) corn(new health freaks food!!!!) stall.....
i did not bother to wait for mandira bedi and Sonu Nigam....i had enough....

been quite a while.....
hmmm...
to make sure my zest for posting continues...i may even stoop to mundane and trivial topics....well
first things...i got a new mobile...and surprisingly for a nokia fan (for a long time...) i bought a sony ericcson..i really have to say that the nokia is a wee bit weak when it comes to the mid-higher end of the mobile spectrum....the sheer amount of features that SE offer are way over Nokia....added to Nokia's woes are its terrible stability..i had a 3230 and i say it was an experience....
m gonna talk about some mobile jargons here...so it may get a lil borin...anyway m not as tech as u think..so U may follow...
Firstly i love the dedication to black...(i loooooooooovvvvvv black!!!!) ....and with its orange touch it really strikes a awesome look......then comes the newly integrated flash menus....boy this menu style is a real joy...but the options are limited and to expand it u need to do some really borin stuff to your mobile whch was not worth it on a new mobile...the camera was lil dissapointing ..even though 2MP might suffice it had that grainy finish which is so uncool...the light option was blinding..literally!!!!...it really could make someone go blind...its way to powerful...no idea what ppl in SE thought we were going to do...work in Mines?????? hmmm..sound quality..this is where SE scores over Nokia crazy....the speaker is good(not as good as w550i) but the real action comes when u listen with the headphones(a real cool one...it goes into your ears...seriously )...final verdict...if u want a small neat phone with loaded features and a little steep budget this is the phone...the W810i....
Posting a pic!!!

muZik RevU : Pachai Kili MuthuCharam....
I dont know the meaning of the title...but i know one thing that if in the year-end count down if a song from this movie does not come first...the song that eventually comes first must be one helluva song...(read Sivaji..)....
1.)Unn Siripinil - Soumya Rao
The song starts with the tune which is being played in the trailor....the humming is sure to be the next ring tone for the season...Soumya rao...donno who she is but sure has got a soft mellifluous voice....esp the part when she goes oru murai ella....is really nostalgic...Nice feel good song....
percentile rating - 70%
2.)Kadhal Konjam - Naresh Iyer
Accordin to me the weakest track in the album...Naresh Iyer rendition being a lil different...good to know he is getting offers other than from Arr camp......it feels like Hariharan was suppsoed to sing this song...anyway not my favourite song...
percentile rating - 30%
3.)Karu Karu - Karthik,Chris ,Naresh Iyer...
The song starts with a cliched beat....never giving u an idea that its going to be rock song....
...another apprehension i have is that i donno how Mr Sarath Kumar is going to lip-sync these songs...i am sure its going to come in the background..it would be disastrous to see him do that ..Song is good...but still waiting
percentile rating - 50%
4.)Unnakkul Naan - Bombay Jayshree & Madhusree...
Song of the year...might be early...but the song is really really awesome....i am actually short of superlatives to describe the song....expect another partha mudhal (this song is better than suttum vizhi accordin to me....)reaction from this song from the audience ...i dont whose lucky mascot is who.... Harris or Bombay Jayshree....
look out for...the violin interlude....the hola re chorus in the second stanza(i luuuvvvvv subtleities(no idea of the spelling!!!)!!!!!!!)....and btw the madhusree version sounded better to me...
percentile rating - highest
p.s - forgive the gramatical errors...

muvee REVU : Pokkiri Experience...
Saw pokkiri today......
Movie is all about action...violence and all the gore which is consequential....
shd say...the movie is very stylishly shot....u really really feel sick when ppl die (and thats a lot of ppl in the movie...)...they could have avoided the silly graphics ....
Asin would mean a song in the movie....and btw she is insanely beautiful....
i saw more of Prabhudeva in Vijay ..from the dance to the acting it was all prabhudeva ....
hmmm...even though the choreography was good....it kinda got repititive.......
the song Vasantha Mullai was cool........and dola dola was much better in telegu....
Vadivel almost gives u the sore thumb of the movie with his comedy.....but i think he made it up with the ghajini parody....man that was too too good......
Verdict...nuthin...just watch it if u have nothing else to do....simple....
kraZy KiyA rE!!!
what could be worse than a 2 hour travel from electronics city to home everyday???
...An accompaniment of the song Crazy Kiya Re from Dhoom 2 evryday on radio....this song really really sucks...and gets on my nerve...

muVee Revu : Guru
I really think Mani should not have taken Nayagan for every movie i watch of his ..i try to measure with that all time gr8....its not fair on him....but isnt everything in this world relative.....Coming to Guru....its a well made film...but certainly not his best.....evrything about the movie seemed to be right except the feel of the movie....i.e i did not get the usual goosebumps after coming after his movie..
Story-wise the movie was brilliant ...it cleverly avoided all controversies it COULD have attached itself to....
On a negative thought...the Mallika Sherawat number was totally inappropriate....it looked like it was cramped into the movie..which already had a "stuffed with songs" first half...Vidya Balan was terrible....no not her acting..she was extremely good for a nothing role....Another disheartening thing was the usually reliance ..er reliable Arr background score...other than Jaage Hain it just did not strike a chord... I actually expected the movie to be visually great but Rajeev Menon did nothing more than what his younger contemporary's are doing now...(that is the problem with a lot of expectations.)Choreography sucked....seriously....picturisation of songs also did not measure up..(mani's worst enemy :Mani)
Enough of bashing...Songs were really gr8...m actually one of the exclusive Ek lo Ek Muft Song Fan Club member....The introduction of Maddy ..the whole sequence of scenes just b4 the intermission were cult stuff(Ab Jr saying No one can stop him...was fantablous)....Aishwarya was gorgeous so was her looks(lucky........)....The Kids singing Jaage Hain was one of the most touching moments of the movie....Also another aspect of this movie was the juxtaposing of the characters in such way that they were against each other but still like each other was a master stroke from mani...the only ubqitious good thing about the movie was the persona of Ab jr.. he carries the movie on his shoulder(maybe the only mani movie..)..ITS HIS MOVIE...WATCH IT FOR DHIRUBHAI er...GURUBHAI

Photo-Scope!!!!
hmm...this photo was not taken in a Single Lens Reflex camera...talking in terms of 35mm equivalency it would fall into the category of wide-angle lens but almost bordering fish-eye lens...the 67/645 mounter usually used in Pentax cams did not take any siginificant part of this photo..the depth of the image was about 3 million light years....
p.s-----b4 ppl from the photography community send an assasin to kill me for murdering their jargons....this photo was taken with a standard digi cam pointing towards the setting sun... its still a beautiful photo....and btw this was taken in Coorg at Raja's Seat at 6:03 p.m....

BSNL Rocks....
2Mbps bandwidth and 2.5 gb dl limit ...man thats huge....experincing the thrill of hi-speed internet....i was downloading at 166 kbps today morning...that means you can dl 40mb in 4 min.....or better you can dl a movie in less than an hour....with this BSNL really goes light years away from the private players.....only downside to the whole thing is that...they dont offer this to the UL900 plan....(was planning to shift to that plan...) ...anyway its a good deal....thanks Maran and a big hellllllllllooooooooooo to 2:00 a.m....
